• History: The largest running back of his time, the 6'2", 235 pound Bronko Nagurski (November 3, 1908 - January 8, 1990) played for the Chicago Bears from 1930 to 1937.  In an era where players played on both sides of the ball, Nagurski was also an exceptional defensive linemen.  Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963, Ernie Nevers (July 11, 1903 - May 3, 1976) was a fullback for the Deluth Eskimos and the Chicago Cardinals from 1926 to 1931.  He is still the only player to ever score 40 points in a single game.  Known as the "Father of American Football," Walter Camp (April 7, 1859 - March 14 1925)  invented the line of scrimmage and the system of downs. He played college football for Yale University from 1876-1882.  Camp was inducted into the College Hall of Fame in 1951 as three of his Yale teams have been recognized as National Champions.  Nicknamed "The Galloping Ghost," Red Grange (June 13, 1903 - January 28, 1991) legitimized the new NFL by signing with the Chicago Bears.  A member of the Pro and College Hall of Fame, he is widely considered the greatest college football player of all time.
