1861-O SS Republic Seated Liberty Half Dollar in NGC Shipwreck Effect with Wood Box & DVD

We are pleased to offer for sale this 1861-O Seated Liberty Silver Half Dollar graded and encapsulated as SS Republic Shipwreck Effect by NGC.  These coins were recovered from the SS Republic steamship which was lost at sea in 1865 and recovered by Odyssey Marine Exploration in 2003 about 100 miles east of Georgia and nearly 1,700 feet deep in the Atlantic Ocean.  The NGC coin is housed in a deluxe wood box and includes a DVD to learn more of the history behind the ship and the recovery effort.
