• History: Ever since its invention by Abner Doubleday in the summer of 1839, baseball has been known as America's favorite pastime.  There have been an endless number of iconic players who have played the game, and the places, most of them torn down and replaced with bigger, more modern  stadiums, will live on in the hearts of baseball fans for generations.  Ebbets Field housed Jackie Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers, while Forbes Field was home to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bill Mazeroski's famous World Series winning home run.  Fields such as Boston's Fenway Park, and Chicago's Wrigley Field are still in use today, and although old, and outdated, hold so many memories that fans refuse to let them be replaced.  Baseball is a game of tradition, and the fields that hosted such memorable moments will live on in the hearts of baseball fans forever.
