• History: DC Comics is one of the largest and most successful comic companies in the United States.  Started in February of 1935, the first title released was The Big Comic Magazine #1 under the company name National Allied Publications.  The third title under this name was Detective Comics, which later went on to introduce Batman in 1939. It was under this title that DC got its name. DC has gone on to publish new action series with the superheroes represented on this sheet and many others ever since.
