History: The "Imagination" sheet in the Art of Disney stamp series captures some of Disney's most well known characters. Pongo and Pup from 101 Dalmatians. In the classic film Pongo's pups have been kidnapped by Cruella de Vil. The story follows Pongo's adventures in his quest to rescue his pups. Steamboat Willie was the first Mickey Mouse film to be distributed. Even though Mickey and Minnie had appeared in test screenings prior, Steamboat Willie is generally considered Mickey's first film. Princess Aurora, the star of Sleeping Beauty, and the three good fairies are pictured on the third stamp. The good ferries, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather have been appointed by the King to protect the Princess from a curse that has been placed on her by the evil witch Maleficent. Mowgli and Baloo are the stars of Disney's Jungle Book the tale of a young orphan boy raised by the creatures in the Indian Jungle.
