We are pleased to offer for sale this 1938 Mercury Silver Dime coin graded and encapsulated as MS-66 FB (Full Bands) by PCGS.  There were 22,190,000 of this 1938 Mercury Dime minted at the Philadelphia (P) Mint.  The "FB" or "Full Bands" designation means a Mercury Dime will have fully separated horizontal bands on the central part of the fasces (the bundle of rods on the reverse).  Additionally, whether caused by the minting process or not, there can be no interruption on the trough (depression) of the bands due to strike, contact, planchet problems, or any other damage, if the coin is to obtain the "Full Band" designation.   

The Mercury Silver Dime series ran from 1916 through 1945. Mercury Silver Dimes weigh 2.5 grams and are composed of .900 silver and .100 copper. These 90% Silver Mercury Dimes have a diameter of 17.9mm with a reeded edge.  This Mercury Silver Dime is of great worth and value to the collector who needs to fill a hole in their Mercury Silver Dime set.
