We are pleased to offer for sale this Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1928) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar was sketched by Juliette May Fraser of Honolulu and executed by Chester Beach. The coin was struck to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the arrival on the Hawaiian Islands of Captain James Cook.  The obverse of the Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar features Captain Cook "Discoverer of Hawaii".  The reverse of the Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar shows a native Hawaiian under a palm tree.  There were only 10,008 of this Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1928, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector!  The Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
