We are pleased to offer for sale this 1941 No "AW" Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar PROOF graded and encapsulated as PF-66 by NGC. There were only 15,412 of these 1941 Walking Liberty Silver PROOF Half Dollars minted at the Philadelphia Mint. It is unknown how many of these coins are this rare No "AW" mint error. The No "AW" refers to the absence of designer A.A Weinman's initials on the reverse of the coin under the tip of the eagles wing. Some proofs minted in 1941 were struck from dies that were excessively polished, which unintentionally removed the designer's initials.
