We are pleased to offer for sale this Delaware Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1936) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar was designed by Carl L. Schmitz who won a design contest for the coin.  The Delaware Half Dollar was struck to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Swedes in Delaware.  There were only 20,993 of the Delaware Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1936, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The obverse of the Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar shows a rendition of the Old Swedes Church.  The reverse of the Delaware Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar features the Swedes' ship Kalmar Nyckel.  The Delaware Tercentenary Silver Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
