1883 Hawaiian Quarter Dollar (Hapaha) in NGC MS 64

We are pleased to offer for sale this 1883 Hawaiian Quarter Dollar (Hapaha) coin graded and encapsulated as MS-64 by NGC. Five official coins were issued for the Kingdom of Hawaii between 1847 and 1883, there was also one unofficial five-cent piece issued in 1881.  499,974 of these 1883 Hawaiian Silver Quarter Dollars were minted at the San Fransisco Mint however, 257,400 were melted.  The obverse of the 1883 Hawaiian Silver Quarter Dollar features a portrait of King Kalakaua I.  The 1883 Hawaiian Quarter Dollar or Hapaha was designed by Charles Barber and weighs 6.3 grams.  The Hapaha is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper. These 90% Silver Hawaiian Quarter Dollars have a diameter of 24.3mm. This 1883 Hawaiian Quarter Dollar is of great worth and value to the collector who is putting together Kingdom of Hawaii, Hawaiian Issue Set.
