notes:

We are pleased to offer for sale this 1943-S Steel Penny Wartime Lincoln Wheat Cent.  This 1943-S Steel Penny is a reprocessed coin .  All of our reprocessed 1943 Steel Pennies have nice eye appeal with no major marks or visible problems and represent a great value for the price.  This 1943-S Steel Penny is of great worth to the collector or numismatist that needs to fill a hole in their Lincoln Wheat Cent collection.  This 1943 Steel Penny has been reprocessed.  Reprocessing involves stripping off the old zinc, removing any rust from the surface of the coins, and re-coating them in zinc, giving them a shiny finish.

In 1943 the composition of the Lincoln Wheat Cent was changed to zinc-coated steel to conserve copper for munitions needed in World War II. The 1943 Steel Penny encountered problems ranging from production difficulties to appearance and use in circulation. The following year the War Production Board made copper, taken from discarded shell casings, available to the Mint and the composition was changed to 95% copper & 5% zinc. In 1947 the coin was returned to the original pre-war composition of 95% copper and 5% zinc/tin alloy.

Don't miss out on this rare 1943-S Steel Penny Wartime Lincoln Wheat Cent at this low price!
