The Presidential One Dollar Coin Act of 2005 required that the reverse of the Lincoln Cent be redesigned for 2009 in honor of the Bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth.  The coins were designed to be emblematic of four different stages of the 16th President's life, his birth and early childhood in Kentucky, his formative years in Indiana, his professional life in Illinois, and finally his Presidency in Washington D.C.

The 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial Penny Log Cabin Cent Gem BU is emblematic of Lincoln's birth and early childhood in Kentucky.  The 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial Log Cabin Penny was designed by Richard Masters and sculpted by Jim Licaretz.  The 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial Log Cabin Penny features an image of the log cabin where Lincoln was born and spent his early life.

Each coin in the 2009-D Lincoln Bicentennial Log Cabin Penny Box of 50 Rolls is comprised of .975 (97.5%) zinc and .025 (2.5%) copper.  They are in Gem BU condition, with great eye appeal.
