The reverse side of the Alabama State Quarter features an image of Helen Keller with her name in English and in a reduced-size version of Braille, an Alabama long leaf pine branch wtih magnolias gracing the sides of the design, and the Spirit of Courage banner underlining the image. The reverse side of the Alabama State Quarter was designed by Norman E. Nemeth. This 2003-S Alabama State Quarter Proof is from the San Francisco (S) Mint. All State Quarters are comprised of .750 copper and .250 nickel with a weight of 5.67 grams and a diameter of 24.3mm. These Alabama State Quarter Proofs come from original U.S. Mint Proof Sets.
