The reverse side of the Iowa State Quarter features a one-room schoolhouse with a teacher and students planting a tree, and the inscriptions Foundation in Education and Grant Wood. The reverse side of the Iowa State Quarter was designed by John Mercanti. This 2004-P Iowa BU State Quarter is from the Philadelphia (P) Mint. All State Quarters are comprised of .750 copper and .250 nickel with a weight of 5.67 grams and a diameter of 24.3mm.
