There were 142,015 of the 2004-P Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commemorative Silver Dollars minted at the Philadelphia (P) Mint. This coin was struck to commemorate the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's exploration of the new territory aquired in the Louisiana Purchase. The obverse was designed by Donna Weaver and features Lewis and Clark standing on a river bank planning another day of exploration. The reverse was also designed by Donna Weaver and features an image of 2 feathers, 17 stars representing each state in the Union at the time.
